Creative Fire: a winter workshop w/ Pam Grossman & Janaka Stucky (online)

Join Pam and occult poet Janaka Stucky for this special online ritual workshop to generate creative fire and celebrate the Pagan holiday of Imbolc.

As the wheel of the year turns and we begin to listen for the first whispers of spring beneath the ground, we find ourselves at a unique intersection of rest and awakening. Imbolc, a time of gentle budding and the stirring of life beneath the frost, invites us to begin kindling our creative fire. This holy day is said to be when the goddess Brigid may bless our new projects and light the way forward with her bright flame.

In this workshop, we will explore the creative fire in each of us as a force for personal rejuvenation and artistic inspiration. Just as Imbolc symbolizes the potential of the coming spring, our gathering will focus on igniting the creative spark within each of us. We'll delve into practices that fan the flames of our inner passions and desires, using this time of year as a metaphor for nurturing our latent talents and aspirations.

This online class *will* be recorded, and available for attendees to rewatch for one month after the class is live.

Prismatic Magic: A Rainbow Witchcraft Workshop with Pam Grossman

Rainbows have many positive associations from hope to pride, and they have also been considered carriers of potent magic across the globe. Though considered a “minor” deity to the ancient Greeks, Iris, the goddess of rainbows, was important enough to be given a place on the Parthenon. The Norse Bifröst, or rainbow bridge, is said to connect the realms of the gods and humans. And mythic beings from Oshunmare of the Yoruba people to the Aboriginal Rainbow Serpent are believed to be great sources of creativity. On the same token, working with the full spectrum of color magic can help us to become more fully integrated, and to harmonize the gradient energies within ourselves and the world around us.

In this visually-rich online workshop, Pam Grossman will cover various forms of rainbow magic, and introduce us to the sacred art of iridescent witchcraft. She will share several practices of manifestation, healing, and divination which utilize chromatic symbol systems, and show how these sacred arcs can help us revitalize and bend towards beauty. Students will come away with everything they need to begin or deepen their own relationship to a rainbow deity, incorporate the power of self-generated or spontaneous color spectrums, and infuse their lives more fully with the occult gifts of color.

This online class *will* be recorded, and available for attendees to rewatch for one month after the class is live.

ENCHANTED HEART: Love Magic Workshop with Pam Grossman (online)

Love magic is one of the most popular forms of witchcraft, yet it is often misunderstood or misused. Its spells and techniques can help generate more romance, higher sexual energy, and a heightened lust for life - however it is most potent when approached with a reverence for the sacred, rather than an intention of possession or manipulation. Divine love is deep, creative, and wildly open-hearted, and working with its magic is an act of occult adoration.

In this visually-rich online workshop, Pam Grossman will cover various forms of love magic from across the globe, and break down the key steps and components for creating or enhancing one's own love magic practice - for the self and others. Students will come away with everything they need to cast a variety of love spells, begin or deepen their devotion to a love deity (or deities), and (com)passionately bewitch their love lives.

Picturing Queer Witchcraft - Featuring: Susan L. Aberth, Pam Grossman, Ksenia Soboleva (moderator)

Throughout history, the word witch has been used against women and queer individuals who refuse to conform to societal expectations of heteronormative gender norms. How did this appear in visual culture? And how have contemporary practitioners of witchcraft reclaimed and reshaped this imagery? Join us for a fascinating look at the history of queer identity and the witch archetype.

The American LGBTQ+ Museum and New-York Historical’s Center for Women’s History welcome you to celebrate the exhibition The Salem Witch Trials: Reckoning and Reclaiming (on view in the Joyce B. Cowin Women’s History Gallery through January 22, 2023) with a conversation between art historian Susan L. Aberth, Pam Grossman, author of Waking the Witch and creator of the podcast The Witch Wave, and moderator Ksenia Soboleva, Andrew W. The After Path: A Samhain Spirit Workshop with Pam Grossman

Communing with our beloved dead is possible at any moment, but this spirited season is when many believe the veil between worlds is thinnest, and contact with the otherworld most clear. Samhain, All Hallows Eve, Día de los Muertos, and Fête Gede are but a few of the holy-days celebrated at this time, and they provide moments of contemplation and connection with those we have lost.

In this visually-rich online workshop, Pam will cover various magical methods of honoring one's ancestors (including biological, chosen, or spiritual), and cover the key components for creating a practice of spirit veneration. Though this class will focus primarily on Samhain traditions, these gestures may be utilized any time throughout the year, whenever one feels called to give thanks, ask for guidance, or simply say hello to those who have crossed over.

Students will come away with everything they need to begin deepening their ancestral connections safely and lovingly - even if they have a complicated relationship with said spirits, or know very little about them. Our familiar spirits can support us, as we can support them!

Beltane is celebrated on 1 May, around halfway between the spring equinox and summer solstice. Falling opposite Samhain on the wheel of the year, it is one of two annual moments when the veil between worlds is thinnest and spirits may make their presence known.

To invite in a new season of promise, we'll work with spring deities, magic gestures and mystical writing techniques to unfurl floral and plant incantations and welcome fiery, divine inspiration.
